Det køleskab, som Moonraker var forsynet med fra fabriken, var et
absorbtionskøleskab leveret af British
Domestic Appliances Ltd., Peterborough, England, 24V/115W. Det fungerede
fint, men brugte enormt meget strøm. Det var næsten muligt at se hvordan
det sank i akkumulatorerne! Og holder man af at ligge på steder hvor
ingen stikkontakter er indenfor rækkevidde, så må man undlade at lade
det være tændt hele tiden, eller udskifte til et kompressorkøleskab.
Istedet for at købe et nyt skab, beholdt jeg det gamle, afmonterede
absorbsionsteknikken og monterede et Coolmatic køleaggregat CU-55 med Danfoss kompressor og
en Coolmatic fordamper VD-07.
Billede 1 viser det gamle skab bagfra. Nr.2 viser kompressoren fra siden,
nr.3 bagfra. Billede 4 viser den monterede fordamper, og endelig
viser nr.5 en anordning, som holder skabet åbent, når det ikke er i brug.

The refrigerator, which Moonraker was fitted with, was an absorption
refrigerator delivered by British
Domestic Appliances Ltd., Peterborough, England, 24V/115W. It worked all
right, but used an immense lot of current. It was almost possible to see
how it sunk in the batteries! So if you fancy places where no outlets are
available, you will have to switch of the refrigerator now and then, or to
change to a compressor refrigerator. Instead of buying a new fridge I kept
the old one, demounted the absorption technique and fitted a Coolmatic
compressor CU-55 and a Coolmatic cooling plate VD-07. Photo 1 is showing the old absorption
technique. No.2 shows the compressor from the side, no.3 from behind.
Photo 4 shows the mounted cooling plate, and finally shows no.5 a
device, which keeps the fridge open when not in use.
