Det var ikke den bedst holdte Moonraker jeg købte, men det var den eneste
der var til salg i 1982 i den periode på et års tid jeg var på udkik
efter båd. Ydermere havde den en rædselsfuld tomatrød farve på
fribordet og, som det
fremgår af billedet ovenfor, ikke særlig jævn i farven. Så det skulle lakeres!
Efter slibning og spartling blev den sprøjtet med Hempel light primer.
Derefter Hempel Poly Best to komponent emaille og vådt i vådt endnu en
gang. Det hele foregik i det fri i september på et område, hvor ingen
andre både stod i risiko for at blive ramt af flyvende maling.
15 år
senere lakerede jeg igen, denne gang i et til formålet
rejst telt. Lige over
fenderlisten var der mange revner i glasfiberen (se nedenfor) og disse
blev fræset op og spartlet med epoxy filler. Fenderliste, badeplatform og
andet udstyr blev afmonteret inden lakering, og senere erstattet af ny fenderliste samt søgelænder.
It wasn't the best kept Moonraker I bought, but it was the only one for
sale in 1982 during the period of a year, I were looking for a boat.
Furthermore the freeboard had an awful tomato colour and, which appears from the
photo above, not particularly even. So it had to be sprayed! After sanding and
filling it was sprayed with Blakes light primer. A light sanding and then
spraying with Blakes Poly Best two component enamel, and then a last wet in wet spraying. It
all took place in the open in September in an area free of other vessels,
which might be hit of flying spaying dust.
15 years later I resprayed, this time in a tent
made for the purpose. Right above the fender list, there was a
lot of cracks in the glass fibre (see below) and these were milled down
and padded with epoxy filler. Rubbing strike, bathing platform and guard
rail were demounted before spraying, and later replaced by a new rubbing
strake and guard
rail.
