Diesel Dipstick.

The below values have been registered throughout more than 20 years on build number 305, and are measured in this way:  The dipstick is unscrewed and carefully wiped off. The dipstick is replaced on the tank without re screwing,  whereupon it is lifted up and the distance "L" from the inside of the screw cap  to the diesel mark is read. When the chart says = it is an accurate observation, while "ca." indicates a more uncertain ditto. The dipstick is located here.

If necessary the plastic tube on the dipstick has to be made fast by means of a screw, as shown on the photo.
