Moonraker has until 1975/76 the steering wheel fitted at port side in the cockpit. This means poor utilization of the cockpit space, as the way down from the aft deck blocks for an effective exploitation of the room. However, a sofa shaped like this still allows free access up and down.

The seat is upholstered with 10cm cold foam rubber 37kg, the back with 3cm foam rubber 30kg. The back is mounted on M8 countersunk screws, threaded into the wall. It is possible to remove the back, if access to the engine room behind is necessary. Detail of the mounting holes.
The sofa don't have to be demounted, if it is necessary to check engine oil or the like, as it is possible to open the hatch and keep it open with a stick.
