Preparations
before craning.
1. Septic
tank is
emptied at the vacuum waste site. 2. Is
the
fresh water cooling system antifreeze
secured? (total
capacity
19L). 3. Engine
oil and filter is changed. (capacity
12L). 4. The
raw water channels are flushed
with emulsifying
oil (circa
15L of
water mixed with
2.5L oil,
e.g.
Castrol Cooledge BI): Close
the raw water cock. The raw water admission- and outlet
tubes are loosened and extended.
The
extended admission tube (sucking side) is put into the emulsifying oil
and
the engine is started. The
coming outlet water is dropped into the sump until
the emulsifying oil (milk-white) is coming out of the tube,
whereupon the tube is put into the container
with emulsifying oil. Engine
is run for 5-15min. (keep
an eye on the temperature). The
admission tube is lifted out of the emulsifying oil and the engine is run
another few seconds until
no more emulsifying
oil is coming out. 5. Fit
protective
boards.
6. Demount
antennas
which might be in the way during the lifting. 7. Fit
lines
for controlling the boat during craning. 8. Mount wires or strops to the bitts to prevent any possibility of vessel slipping from the slings. After landing. 11. Draw
off raw water from
the engines. 12. Raw
water filters are cleaned. 13.
Fresh
water system is emptied and water is drained off. 14.
15. Demount propellers (avoiding theft during the winter). Launching Preparations before launching. 1. Rudder
bearings
are
refilled with
grease. 2.
Tachometer
senders are greased. 3. Shafts
are checked and propellers are mounted. 4. Zink
anodes
are
checked /
renewed.
2 Bera nr 35 = 3.5kg. (anodes
are lacquered
on
the back side before mounting).
Check
electrical connection between anodes and the protected parts. 5. Antifouling. 6. Check oil-
and
coolant water. 7. Replace
final fuel filter elements. 8.
9. Smear
port and starboard Morse cables
aft. at the rudder. After launching. Control
that no water is penetrating into the boat. |
