Diesel tank, extra |

The main tank contains 900 litres, which means that you normally are plentifully supplied. However at one time I were in need for greater capacity, and I estimated the possibilities. The main saloon floor had a brass gauge, and when I unscrewed it and lit through the hole, it revealed a cavity beneath, - a tank! Just one problem, it wasn't tight, you could see water at the bottom and it sank when you started the bilge pump! I guess that the cavity is a reminiscence from former versions, being used as a tank or collision cavity, - in a tight version! I gave up the possibility of tightening, and sawed instead, on the side through the floor over the tank, a 350 mm round hole, and mounted a Vetus 300L flexible tank in the cavity. Be sure that no sharp edges occurs in the cavity! It is by a filling tube connected to a deckfiller adjacent to the main tank filler. The airing has been lead to the outside along with the main tank airing. The drawing happens through a pump to the main tank. Due to the cavity shaping the flexible tank only takes 200L. |
