It is possible to spray in the open air, but for many reasons it is necessary to have a tent, to obtain an optimal result. If you're going to spray, many harbour authorities demand a tent to prevent surrounding boats unintended being spattered with paint brought by wind. A professional tent is fine but expensive, so here is a rather cheap solution. Click on image to enlarge. The scaffold is put up by laths covered by 2 pieces 7x12m polythene boat sheets, which is put together along the slanting lath in top. At the bottom the sheet is put under boards, which either due to their weight can keep it in place, or simply nail the boards to the ground. 106m 38x57mm laths, 43m 25x50mm laths, 2 pieces 7x12m tarpaulin, screws, raw plugs, all in all DDK. 2400.- / 210£ / 316$. |
