2008-01-04 Status 2007. Happy new year! The accounts show as expected a profit, as sending out the Newsletters by E-mail, seems to have taken place without major problems, and thereby has saved the Society for the expense to postage. Accounts 2007 are attached to this Newsletter. The following vessels, Camillo and Nemlig-Ja, have been sold during the year. Newsletter No.4 / 2007. Due to lack of material is Newsletter No.4 / 2007, which was announced published November / December 2007, postponed to publishing now as Newsletter No.1 / 2008.New member. Bruno Sefbom, who owns a 1976 Flybridge no. 346 moored in Stockholm, has become member, and we wish him good luck with the purchase and the membership of the Society. Wreckage. Spedeworth, build number 068, with the owners Tom Bownerss, and wife Mary, were saved by a passing boat after a terrifying ordeal in which their vessel burst into flames and sank, off Cumbria Northwest of England. A PDF article of a newspaper has been put on the Moonraker Register. This brings me to remind you, to ensure that the oil tubes which feeds the turbo, are intact and without cracks, as quite a few incidents has lead to fire, when oil spurts and hits the scorching turbo. Renovation of Moonlight 265. Anna & Henning's complete Account has been put on the web site together with photos taken during the process. Get together 2008 We are trying a new approach to the subject this year. Everyone, who in principle is interested in joining a Rally, sends me a mail with their wishes to date and place for a Rally. Thereafter I'll try to find the place best suited for the majority. The whole thing is as usual without binding commitment, so go ahead! Reply latest Monday February 4'th. Silence Here at winter time it is very quiet on the Moonraker front, - nothing, absolutely nothing is happening! The Society's mailbox is empty and quiet as the grave! The web site is of course still visited, even though the last Summers visits well over 11000 per month, not is reached (December 5726). If one is not too busy doing other things (which one easily can, -which I know about my self!), one could reflect on, if there might be events or initiatives, which could be shared with other Moonraker owners? 2008-04-13 New member. Brian Crosby who owns a 1975/E flybridge no. 337, Victoria’s Joy moored in Brighton, England, has become member, and we wish him good luck with the membership. Member vessels for sale. Egon and Karen have bought a brand-new American boat, and have therefore their Moonraker 1988 no. 401 Majka for sale, so an add has been put on our sales site. Shame on them!Stella Nova no. 286 is also for sale. They are both wished good luck with the sale.Web site. - Info about hull construction has been put on the Data site. Service / Moonraker Data / Hull construction. - Many sites are linking to our site, which is good, as the greater number of links a site has, the higher you are ranked on the search engines and our site therefore comes up on top. Chivas 169. Sven Erik Sorensen has had his newly installed Cummings diesels tested by Cummings, and expects launching in the nearest future. He has by the way, promised to try to put an account together for the Newsletter describing the engine replacing, which now has been going on for nearly 2 years. Coloured diesel. In Denmark there is no such thing as red diesel. You pay the same as diesel used for cars! The nearest country you can purchase tax reduced diesel is Norway, which is too far away! It is possible to buy coloured diesel in Denmark, but this is solely intended used for heating and is strictly forbidden to use by any vessel. New Moonraker. My contact tells, that the project is still on, but can not tell further at the moment. Rally 2008No rally is planned to take place this year. But still, one might meet other Moonrakers, either from the Society, or strangers, with whom one might get a Moonraker chat. (rember to take photos of them and info for our Register). 2008-08-18 New member. Claus Boye Petersen, who owns Lotus Nr. 248 (ex. Aventura, San Marco, Condor), has become member, and we wish him good luck with the membership. New Moonraker. A mail from Nick Warner, who apparently is the former mentioned person, who has raised an objection to the deal with Moonrakerboats.net, tells that if he gets the rights to the moulds, is aiming to have the first vessel on the water early 2009. He has got the rights to the web addresses Moonraker.co.uk and Moonraker.eu.Recently I have received yet a mail, this time from David Tyacke, who writes, that he very well knows the two persons, Dave Lancashire and Gill Algor, as many people have disagreements with them, and that they have several companies behind them, which has been declared bankrupt.Incidentally www.moonrakerboats.net is now suspended, which seems to be the end of the Lancashire / Algor Moonraker story! International Moonraker RegisterThe number of Moonraker 36 registered in our Register has now reached 275, which is approximately 69% of the produced vessels. Some of them are probably repetitions, as the only thing that can prevent that is, if one has build number of them all, which we unfortunately not have! But 60-65% we certainly have! Web site. - Gas cylinder 11kg in the compartment behind the flybridge seat. EU regulation allows 2 cylinders each 11kg on a vessel. Unfortunately the original gas compartment behind the flybridge chair leaves no room for a large aluminium or steel cylinder, and if you don't want to have the cylinder on deck in the open, you'll have to make some changes. Service / Solutions / Gas compartment. - Avoid kicking carpet edge to pieces at the stair to the cabin. Service / Solution / Carpet edges 2. - Easy access to the cavity in the wheelhouse. Service / Solutions / Cockpit ceiling plate. - A cruise from Marseilles to Calais by Morvyn Phillips. Library / Account of journey. - Cruising the French and Italian Riviera by Morvyn Phillips. Library / Account of journey. - Cruising to the Danube by Morvyn Phillips. Library / Account of journey. - Cruising Norfolk and Suffolk by Morvyn Phillips. Library / Account of journey. - Cruising the Essex and Suffolk Coast by Morvyn Phillips. Library / Account of journey. Many know Morvyn Phillips, as the founder of the now departed Moonraker Owners Club.
